SMALL TALK by Jill DeChello

         TOWN

o much has been going on lately, I thought I’d give you all a
Slittle recap. The basics – Dino’s moved! Right next door to
Sylvia’s. I missed Chris and his dad even if they were closed
only for a few weeks. Fried seafood and cheesecake! And stop
by and meet the new owners of Vines to wash it all down! They
are wonderful people and stock my sister’s favorite wine for
me. I did a photo shoot at Sylvia’s for Red Barn Boutique and
Gifts with Ryley Lewis, the new photographer in town. He even
knows my sister from high school. I have met Ray Andrewsen
from the Chamber on many occasions. I have had the pleasure
of meeting so many new North Haven business owners. I met
Montana, the owner of CrossRoads. She is adorable and it is
the best cappuccino I have had in forever! I met Lera, Mark and
Steven from Love Lera Bakery. I’ve been to Sam’s Place several
times. The food is yummy, and Sam is a great guy. I am going Jill DeChello & Stephen W. Hoag
to be working with him on a Mediterranean Dinner. I met Alex
and Norman from Twelve Percent Beer Project. A hidden gem
in North Haven and so welcome to town. I hope to do an event
       there also.

I met a new lawn service guy in town, Michael Dickinson, that
made my sister and brother-in-law’s lives easier. He did a great
job. (She doesn’t like heat or dirt either.) I met Renee and the
gang from GSB Bank. Fun, fun people. I went to the North
Haven Rotary function at Anthony’s with Ron from RVI Com-
puters, Sylvia from Sylvia’s Confection Connection and David
from United Bank. I attended the Quinnipiac Chamber An-
nual Meeting and Award Celebration to honor three of North
Haven’s finest, Larry Lazaroff from Arnold’s Jewelers who re-
ceived the Community Impact Award, Andy Ciaccio from Art’s
Television and Appliance who won the small company shining
star award and American Eagle who won shining star mid size
company. I was proud to see North Haven so well represented.
Thank you, Ray Andrewsen! I had the pleasure of working with
Mark and Mary Minotti on the Music Fest on the Green and
The Landing a few weekends ago. It was very successful. I even
met an author, Stephen W. Hoag, who wrote several books. His
newest includes a touch of North Haven. And he presented me
with a scepter. He says wand, my way sounds more royal. For Ryley Lewis
a small town, there is always so much going on, and I am nosy Ray Andrewsen, director of Quinnipiac Chamber with (Photographer)
enough to want to know it all, and if I missed thanking anyone, Alex Blank (Twelve Percent Beer Project)
please know you all are so appreciated.
