A Message From
s we continue to move forward out of the pandemic, I am very proud of all of our resi-
Adents for how each of you have handled yourselves during such difficult times!
Your town of North Haven is continuing to open up events and activities to the public, en-
suring that our buildings and meetings are open to the public, and will continue to provide
a high level of services to each and every one of you as our valued residents. Our town Michael J. Freda
continues to be in outstanding financial state, and our economic development projects First Selectman
are continuing to move forward with some exciting new businesses coming to town on
Washington Avenue, State Street and Universal Drive.
Despite many of the good things that are happening and that will continue to happen, I continue be driven to personally
improve my own performance, to personally get better, and to ensure that our town continues to progress.
Some of my many goals in addition to personally improving, consist of improving and upgrading our parks, playscapes,
ballfields, park benches, picnic tables, continue to pave roads, improve infrastructure and do all of this without any tax in-
creases.
Collaboration is a key ingredient to a government’s success, and our collaboration together can continue to help us improve
our town in other areas.
During the course of the day, my office and I are always interacting with our citizens, interacting with businesses and in-
teracting with people who are from other cities and towns. On a typical day at town hall, we may receive upwards of 150
phone calls and about 200 e-mails which we will address. I have noticed a trend recently regarding many of these calls we
are receiving. Based on all of these calls, there are three things that I need your assistance in helping to improve the town.
We are hearing from the public that three issues that we need to improve on are:
1) excessive car speeding in town
2) car doors are not being locked
3) there are people walking their dogs without the appropriate disposable bags
On the last item, many of you know that I am a lover of dogs and cats and have had family pets for years. I lost my beloved
Golden Retriever dog named Dallas several years ago and my wife and children were all devastated when Dallas passed
on Christmas Day of that year.
Every day during his life, I would always take him to run with me, which he loved to do and he was always very patient with
me when I had to pick up after him.
As we continue to move forward together, I promise each and every one of you that I will work to continue to strive to get
better. If we can collaborate together on some of the above things that I have mentioned, we will continue to improve our
town to help enhance the quality of life here in North Haven.
Thank you for being who you are as wonderful citizens of our town, I love each and every one of you.
Sincerely,
Michael Freda
