              hether you are currently a Medicare Insurance beneficiary,
        Wturning 65 or over 65 and getting ready to retire, it is very
        important that you understand the basics of Medicare.

        What is Medicare?

        Medicare is health insurance for:
          •  People 65 or older
          •  People under the age of 65 with certain disabilities
          •  People of any age with End-Stage Renal Disease, also known
            as  ESRD  (permanent  kidney  failure  requiring  dialysis  or
            kidney transplant)


                                  What are the different parts of Medicare?
                                    The different parts of Medicare help cover specific services
        Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)                     Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage)
          •  Helps cover the costs of inpatient care in hospitals  •  Offers health plan options run by Medicare-approved
          •  Helps cover the costs of skilled nursing facilities, hospice   private insurance companies.  Medicare Advantage
            and home health care                                    Plans are a way of getting the benefits and services
                                                                    covered under Part A and Part B.  Most Medicare
                                                                    Advantage Plans cover Medicare prescription drug
