In the past few months, on the North Haven
Community Facebook Page, contests were
announced at the beginning of each week, the
public then voted on the posts entered, and the one with the most
votes at the end of the week was deemed winner for the week
and awarded a gift card to a local North Haven business of their
choice.

The idea for these contests was developed and initiated roughly
one month into quarantine. Anna Buono, a local Realtor with
Berkshire Hathaway, and Brian Coughlin, a mortgage broker
with Welcome Home Mortgage LLC, decided it was time to help
bring some joy to the residents of North Haven in some small
way by posting weekly contests to the page. Anna and Brian
are North Haven residents, friends, and colleagues who work
together often in helping people purchase a home. They both
follow the "Relationships over Transactions" mantra so when
they thought of what could be done to boost their community
morale during quarantine, they came up with the idea for these
fun contests that so many people now look forward to and have
grown to anticipate weekly. The contests have a following now
and people anticipate the announcement of the next one each
week. And thought quarantine is over, the two have decided to
continue the contests because the feedback has been very positive!
The North Haven Community Page has since been taken down
but thankfully there is a new Community Group Page which was
started by another resident called "North Haven Community
Page 2.0" So Join the Group to follow the contests which will be
starting again in August.
