is recommended for beginners.
There are many varieties of “Phals”,
with different blossom forms, different colors, and various color
combinations, so there are a lot of options. With proper care, the
Phalaenopsis can live for many years, providing a succession of
blooms over many months of the year.
This Phalaenopsis was a gift to me from my mother in 2014 and
continues to blossom and produce new leaves. As many as 44 blos-
soms have been on the flower spikes at one time, and the plant
won Best in Show at the 2019 Daytime Gardeners Horticultural
Show “Color Your World”. Consider sharing a gift such as this with
someone you know, or put it on your own wish list!

There are lots of resources on the Internet and in our local library
that can assist you in selecting and caring for these holiday plants,
and many others not mentioned here. The winter months can be
cheerful and colorful when any of these wonderful house plants
share the space with you.
