North Haven
Hello Everyone,
As I sit here writing to you, it is a cold and rainy day. The sky is dreary, the orange and yellow leaves are
blowing around and . . . I love every minute of it. Finally, my favorite weather. As you all know, I am not a
summer lover so I do all the activities I can in Fall and Winter. Last month the magazine hosted our third
Town Trek. Town Trek is an event that gathers teams/families together to explore our town, stopping
at our advertisers and participating in unique challenges. Taste tests, how well you know North Haven,
even a dunk tank. It’s always a good time. Check out the pictures on page 28. The winning team was the
“Luna-Chicks” and the money went to beautify our Town Green, which is in need of new benches. Two
weeks later, we had a Chili Cook-Off on the Town Green. Nine Chili makers were on hand with everything
from vegetarian chili to a sirloin based chili and even hot dog chili (one of my favorites). The Judges were
North Haven Fire Chief Paul Januszewski, our Spring Princess, Princess Peyton Davis and MasterChef Jr,
Season 2 contestant Adaiah Stevens. The Judge’s choice was Nelson Ambulance and the People’s Choice
was Stellato’s Deli. The weather was perfect and for a first year event, it went well. But next year, we want
hundreds!
So, in a few weeks is Thanksgiving, “Yum”, and then Christmas. Christmas has always been magical for
me. I love tradition. My brother-in-law makes pumpkin pancakes and my sister makes it so much fun.
She always has a theme for my gifts and makes beautiful bows. I spend more of my time baking. I make
a ton of cookies. And, as always, I hope for a white Christmas. North Haven looks its best in a blanket of
white, glittery snow.
I wish everyone in town a wonderful holiday season and a New Year filled with peace and happy
surprises. You know the routine, stop me if you see me to say hello and please frequent the North Haven
