cause other foods to have a metallic, bit-
ter taste. The odd taste occurs 1-3 days af-
ter consumption of the pine nuts and may
only last a few days, though it sometimes
continues for weeks. It seems to be caused
most frequently by the pine nuts from spe-
cific species of pines found mostly in China.
Research is underway to gain better under-
standing of this condition.
