A Message From
As we look back into the mirror of this past year, we see reflections of problems,
challenges and unprecedented predicaments that we have all been faced with in
both our professional and personal lives.
Despite what we see in these reflections, I would like to share with you some
positive thoughts as we enter into this holiday season and this coming year.
Each of us still have a great deal to be happy about. We have our families, we Michael J. Freda
have our friends and we have shown a great deal of resilience in dealing with our
respective challenges. First Selectman
As we enter into this holiday season, each of us also have those wonderful memories of holiday seasons of the past when
life seemed so much simpler and those times perhaps seemed to be so much happier.
It is during this time of year that I find myself glancing back within the theatre of my own mind, and I visit those very happy
memories of my childhood and of holiday seasons from the past.
Those memories include having two wonderful parents who have since passed, and the happy memories of all of my aunts,
uncles, cousins and grandparents who were such a positive part of my childhood. I can still see clearly my younger brother
and I opening up presents on Christmas morning and I can still see those electric football games, board games, rock em
sock em robots, and other wonderful toys and games that gave us great happiness as young boys.
Each of us have those wonderful memories that helped shape our lives, and we also have those wonderful loved ones who
are still with us or those loved ones who have passed and whom we think about often.
As we move forward, I hope that you would agree that despite these unprecedented times, we do have a lot to be grateful
for and I am also personally grateful for each of you.
When we are faced with our own individual uncertainties, let’s never forget to take a moment to pause and reflect on the
good things in our lives.
On a personal note, I would like you to know that our town is still doing very well overall at a time when other municipalities
are struggling financially. This government may not be able to solve every individual problem but for as long as you want me
to be your First Selectman, this government will always be there for you.
I have said it many times, and during this holiday season I would like to say it again, I care very much for each of you as our
citizens and I will always care for you.
On behalf of the town government of North Haven, I wish each of you and your families a very happy and healthy holiday
season!
Sincerely,
Michael Freda
