Happy New Year Everyone!
tried to wait for the first storm to write my winter letter, but I ran out of time. I want snow. I hope you all had a
I wonderful holiday and are ready for 2020. I have to admit, I am having a slow start this year. Not sure why. The
Magical Elf House was a huge success (thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors), I baked tons of cookies and my
holidays were wonderful. Great family time, lots of good food and my sister out did herself with a Christmas “fill in
the blank Princess book” – THAT SHE MADE with hints all the way through. The final gift - tickets to Diana, The
Musical. My sister is not a crafty person, so it meant a lot that she did it and it had glitter! I got a second gift - I did
not have to move from my rental home after being here twenty three years. A local business owner heard of my issue,
bought my house and rented it back to me. Again, these “Hallmark” moments only happen here in our town.
I’m not sure anyone make resolutions anymore but I do. I have learned to make them vague enough that I don’t feel
bad when I am unwrapping that twinkie on day two when I vowed to eat healthy. This year’s personal resolution is
. . . pause, think and make better choices. We’ll see. I even made some resolutions for the magazine. I’d like to double
the size, be more valuable to my advertisers and readers and I hope to be more visible. Mr. Freda, is there a “Queen”
position I can fill in North Haven? I’d like to improve our Facebook presence and get you all to interact with me. And,
as always, bring our wonderful and unique town together for events and causes.
Everywhere I go in North Haven, I see lots of growth. As always we continue to attract new businesses. I’ve enjoyed
meeting the guys at Blur, the Barbershop on State Street and Carla at New England ReUse on Sackett Point Road.
I didn’t even know it was there! If you haven’t been to La Lupa, the bolognese is to die for.
And, in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, there are six shamrocks hidden within this issue’s ads. See page 27 for details
and win $20 gift card to Stellatos Deli the home of my favorite corned beef hash. Try it. Delish.
Here’s to 2020!e’s to 2020!
