A Message From
THE FIRST SELECTMAN
he town of North Haven has once again been awarded a AAA financial rating sig-
Tnifying our town as one of the most financially sound and stable municipalities
in the state of Connecticut. There are several reasons for this. We are continuing
to bring in new businesses to our town and we are also expanding with existing
businesses. Our top line grand list growth this past year was almost 3% which was Michael J. Freda
among the highest grand list growth percentages in the entire state. This growth
was primarily generated through new businesses coming to our town. I fully antic- First Selectman
ipate another year of significant grand list growth this coming year.
We continue to balance budgets, control costs and this year there was no tax increase. We have been very diligent
on improving the town’s infrastructure by paving roads, renovating buildings and our school system continues to be
highly rated.
However, much like my sports career and business career, I am still not satisfied. We can do better and we will do
better.
So where do we go from here?
For as long as the fine citizens of North Haven continue to want me to be their Chief Elected Official, we will have an
insatiable desire to continue to improve. We will continue to look to improve the town and help enhance the lives of
our citizens by improving our level of services.
We will continue to update our town’s infrastructure so that our town is considered to be a very desirable community.
We will continue to bring new businesses into town, we will continue to grow our top line revenue, and we will con-
tinue to focus in on balancing budgets with no tax increases.
Recently, Governor Lamont came to see me at Town Hall and asked me how are we accomplishing so much in North
Haven. He mentioned that we have been recognized within our region and at a state level as to our success, particu-
larly with regard to economic development. I shared with him what we are doing and explained to the Governor that
there is much more to come.
As we move forward, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we will be even more successful.
I continue to be on a relentless mission, a mission in which I am fully motivated to get better and to do better for each
of you to create even more positive outcomes here in North Haven.
Under this administration, North Haven will never fail and will never be out executed in our pursuit of great success.
Sincerely,
Michael Freda
