On a very appropriate "chilly" Sunday, Jack and Jill
Productions hosted a Chili Cook-off on the Town
Green. Chili Participants were Dino's, Nelson Ambu-
lance, The North Haven Rotary Club, the Ridge Road
Fire Department, The Music Center of North Haven,
Stellatos Deli, Debbie Zavarella who runs the Annual
Coat Drive, Amicis and The Dog House Grille. I speak
from experience - all the chili was wonderful. I made
the rounds at least twice!
The event produced two winners. There was a judge's
blind tasting. Our judges were our North Haven Fire
Chief Paul Januszewski, our Spring Princess, Prin-
cess Peyton Davis and MasterChef Jr, Season 2 con-
testant Adaiah Stevens. After having to go back for a
second taste, the Judges chose Nelson Ambulance.
Their chili had sirloin in it, very hearty and quite yum-
my. The public had their say also and Stellatos Deli
took the prize for people's choice. Again, yummy with
this avocado creme stuff on top. I tried to get him to
call it Jilly Chili, didn't work.
The money raised from the event went to the North
Haven Food Bank, just in time for the Holidays.
